Aussie Olympics queen Jess Fox stuns as she gets ready to start a new job that will put her way outside her comfort zone

It’s been a remarkable few months for Australian Olympic hero Jess Fox.

The kayaker lit up the course of the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, first producing a flawless run and eventually taking gold in the K1 canoe slalom – a medal she has won in recent Olympics escaped.

Just three days later, the 30-year-old Aussie star would add to her medal tally and earn her sixth Olympic medal – her third gold – by defending her C1 canoe slalom title.

“There was so much build-up to Paris and everything I did over the last three years was focused on performing at my best during those two weeks in July and August,” the now three-time gold medalist told the Daily Telegraphafter her epic performance in Paris.

“Since then it’s been such a blur and a whirlwind of celebration, opportunity, exhaustion and reflection on such a big moment in my career and my life.”

It looks like it’s been a busy few months for Fox, but after the buzz of capturing her third Olympic gold, the rower is about to make a new career move.

The Australian is set to join French beauty company L’Oréal Paris after a busy few months. Fox is now about to embark on a new venture that she says will take her “out of her comfort zone.”

The superstar kayaker has joined L’Oreal Paris and will take to the catwalk at the Sydney Opera House next Thursday as part of the Walk Your Worth Runway event.

The event celebrates female empowerment and Fox admitted she was excited about the “unforgettable opportunity.”

“I’m both excited and nervous,” Fox said.

‘Walking on a catwalk, especially in heels, is definitely outside my comfort zone, but the iconic backdrop of the Sydney Opera House makes it an unforgettable opportunity. I can’t wait to meet the other amazing women and celebrate being part of this movement.”

Fox was born in Marseille, France, and moved to Penrith when she was just four years old.

Canoeing also runs in the family, with her father being former British canoeist Richard Fox. Her mother is Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi, who competed in two Summer Olympics and won bronze in the K1 kayaking event at the 1996 Atalanta Games.

“L’Oréal Paris is a brand I’ve known and loved since I was a teenager when I bought my first mascara and lipstick,” Fox added.

“I was born in France and I remember growing up seeing the ads in French and English, and that French connection makes it come together so beautifully.”

She will join several other stars at the event, including actor Madeleine Madden and model Riley Hemson. Paralympian Ellie Cole will also headline the event, alongside journalist and broadcaster Jessica Rowe.

Since returning home, Fox says she has been thinking about a sensational summer of sports.

Fox says her training schedule has been

Fox says her training schedule has been “more relaxed” in recent weeks and she was “enjoying paddling and going to the gym”

“It was everything I dreamed of and the reality of being home has overwhelmed me a little with the love and support from everyone. One thing I expected to feel was a lack of motivation for training, which is completely normal considering what we just did at the Games.

‘So for now the training is a bit more relaxed and I’m enjoying paddling and going to the gym without the same intensity as during the Games.’
