Is this the worst haircut of all time? Aussie nurse left ‘hysterical’ after horror experience in country town
A young Australian nurse said her ‘soul left her body’ after getting the ‘worst’ haircut in the world during a horror experience in a country town.
Bell shared the choppy and uneven bob she got six months ago at a popular chain hairdresser in a small town in a TikTok video posted last week.
She explained that she had recently moved to the city with her boyfriend and that she didn’t trust anyone to share the details of the best local hairdresser.
She decided to get her hair cut at a popular hairdressing chain known for its walk-in appointments and lower prices.
Bell told the stylist she wanted a cut but hated the look of layers. She also asked them to use thinning shears or cut off a shorter layer close to her neck, out of sight.
‘If anyone thinks they’ve had the worst haircut in the world, I just want to say they haven’t: they’re wrong. Actually, it was me,” she said.
“Obviously I am aware that the hairdresser I chose is my fault, that is my fault,” she said.
‘The description I gave was probably my bad one, but still. There are two parts of this haircut that are bad: One, it wasn’t what I asked for. Secondly, it’s actually a really bad haircut.’
Bell said she went into ‘escape mode’ after the hairstylist revealed the messy bob (pictured)
Bell was left with several choppy layers on the back of her head, some so short they rubbed against her ears.
Meanwhile, the front of the style didn’t look any better as both sides were cut to different lengths and were significantly shorter than the back.
When the stylist unveiled the finished product, Bell said she went into “escape mode” and couldn’t bring herself to ask them to fix it.
‘It was at the back that I really noticed for the first time how bad it was, she showed me the mirror and I immediately felt my soul leaving my body and my brain hitting my ass. I thought, ‘I love it’… I had no courage at all,” she said.
The only way Bell could “fix” her hair was to wear the top half of it up and the rest down until it grew out three months later.
Aussies were shocked by the end result.
“I promise it’s worse than I expected,” one person wrote.
“The way my jaw dropped,” said another.
“I thought, ‘It can’t be that bad.’ I was wrong. It’s that bad. I snorted. I’m so sorry.’
‘As a hairdresser, I completely understood your explanation of what you wanted. I can’t even fathom what she was thinking,” wrote a fourth.
