A mother who criticised Jetstar cabin crew, calling her “disgusting” for refusing to help her when she travelled alone with her baby, has hit back at critics who called her “entitled”.
Larissa Davey from Melbourne flew on a different flight to her sister’s Gold Coast last Friday after their original booking was cancelled by the budget airline.
The mother of one, who runs a children’s clothing company, claims staff were unwilling to help her and allegedly told her it was not their responsibility.
“The way Jetstar treats women travelling alone with babies is absolutely disgusting,” Davey said angrily in a video posted to social media.
The mother claimed she asked a staff member if someone could help her with her luggage on the plane, to which the staff member allegedly replied: “Only if they want to.”
“I have my daughter on my hip, diaper bag, stroller in my hand. I literally don’t have a free hand,” she added.
Ms Davey then asked another member of staff if they could help her across the platform, to which she was allegedly told: ‘That’s not our responsibility.’
“That’s really disgusting,” she fumed.

“What about your responsibility as a fucking human being? They’re just assholes.”
She said the staff needed a “lesson in manners – and a new job”.
A Jetstar spokesperson said their “customer services team have been in contact with her to better understand what happened”.
“We want all parents to feel welcome and comfortable on our flights and we are very sorry to hear about her experience,” they added.
Still, not everyone agreed with the mother’s tirade.
‘I have flown Jetstar four times, with just a three-month-old baby, and I only took the changing bag as hand luggage, because it is insane to expect someone to help you or roll out the red carpet for you,’ wrote one mother.
Another added: ‘Princess, that’s not her job.
“It’s your responsibility. Do you ask people in supermarkets to push your cart because you have a child?”
Another sharp remark told her to just accept it.
“The next time you charter a private jet to travel… be serious,” he said.
However, Mrs Davey hit back.
“I think everyone is somehow missing the simple point: I’m not saying it’s anyone’s responsibility, I’m saying that anyone has no human decency to ask for help to get across wet asphalt, they have no right to do so,” she wrote.
