An Australian mother has launched a tirade about how annoying preparing dinner every night is and called for a boycott of the dinner.
Founder of children’s brand Angus the Label, Emma Kenney, expressed her “hot take” in a recent TikTok video, which many moms agreed with.
“None of us really don’t want to eat anyway, I have no interest in sitting down to enjoy a meal,” Ms Kenney told her followers.
“I don’t want to cook it, I don’t want to think about what we’re eating or making a meal plan, I don’t want to talk about it, and I don’t want to show up.”
Ms Kenny added that she is tired of “thinking about dinner” every night instead of ordering dinner every night when she was single.
“We’re canceling dinner,” she said.
The video has since gone viral with more than 3,700 comments from viewers.
Many admitted that they ‘despise’ cooking food and are instead ecstatic to no longer have the pressure of their partner or children at home.
“I swear dinner gives me the biggest anxiety because I’m supposed to come up with food that is budget friendly but nutritious,” one person wrote.
‘It has to be varied and interesting and I have to know how to achieve that?’
A second said they broke down when their ex-husband asked them to ‘write a weekly menu so you know what you’re cooking’.
“My husband worked away for three months and all I ate was microwave meals, takeaways and snacks,” a third commented.
“He came back yesterday and I’m so tired of him asking what you want to eat.”

Ms Keeney said she had ‘no interest’ in sitting down with her family after cooking a meal for them, then repeating the process every day
“I hate mealtime, always have, being forced to eat when I wasn’t hungry,” a fourth user wrote.
“I cook dinner, but I don’t force anyone to eat if they don’t feel like it.”
But some saw mealtime as a crucial part of family life, with many claiming it was one of the few times they could sit around the table and talk.
“I love food,” said one viewer.
“We sit down, turn off all the electricity and just talk to each other.”
Another added: ‘Dinner is an important time when the family can get together to talk about their days and spend some time together.
‘We don’t see each other enough with our hectic schedules.’
