Aussie model Sahara Ray opens up about health condition that left her paralysed: ‘My whole life changed in an instant’
Australian glamor model Sahara Ray has opened up about a recent health condition that has left her confined to a wheelchair.
The daughter of Australian surfer Tony Ray revealed on social media on Sunday that she suffers from Guillain-Barré syndrome, a condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves.
“My whole life changed in an instant,” Sahara, 31, wrote alongside a series of clips from her journey with the disease.
In a TikTok video posted earlier this month, the model explained that she is currently paralyzed from her thighs down to her feet.
Sahara added that she is wheelchair-dependent and cannot walk without the help of a walker.

She explained that on April 8, she was hit by a drunk driver traveling at a speed of 80 meters per hour.
“It basically sent my body into shock, sending my body into this crazy disease,” she revealed.
‘I was really, really sick for a week and a half to two weeks. During that time, I barely ate anything because I couldn’t keep it down and my body became very soft,” she continued.

After her illness, she began to feel tingling and numbness in her feet, which spread to her legs.
The model was immediately rushed to the emergency room.
“This has been very difficult to deal with and I have been trying to keep a good attitude and hope that my feelings will come back,” she told her social media followers.
“Any advice would be great, or just like love and support and your prayers because I want to be able to walk again,” she added.
