Aussie man sends admirers’ hearts racing with innocent request for help

An attractive Aussie’s public appeal for help finding a place for him and his beloved dog to live was overwhelmed by the response from swooning admirers.

Jonathon Eaton, 30, posted on a Gold Coast Rentals Facebook page that he was moving interstate for work and “bringing my best friend with him.”

“Wolfie is a very calm, one-year-old German Shepherd who is super chill and friendly – it’s basically impossible not to love her,” he wrote.

‘I’m very relaxed. I like to watch football, train in the gym, but I also like to have a beer and socialize every now and then.’

But Mr Eaton, who captioned the post with two photos of himself with Wolfie, told Daily Mail Australia he didn’t get the response he expected after many women – some from overseas – commented on his appearance.

“So cute,” one person wrote.

Another said: ‘If you want to be my roommate in the US, let me know.’

A third joked: “I’m moving to the Gold Coast, bye.”

Jonathon Eaton (pictured), posted on a local Facebook group that he was looking for a place to live, but was shocked by the response with many women commenting on his appearance and tagging their single friends

But it was the civil engineer’s girlfriend, Sophie, who actually wrote the message (photo of the couple)

Many comments were littered with love heart emojis and some tagged their single friends, asking them things like ‘do you have room in your bed – is it a queen?’

But the civil engineer said that even though he found the response “unexpected,” he found it “hilarious” — mainly for one reason.

“It’s funny because my girlfriend actually wrote the post,” he said.

“We’ve been laughing about it ever since.”

The Sydneysider said his girlfriend Sophie urged him to post because he needed to find a place to live before November 15.

‘It was just an innocent little outing. We have to move there next week, so we put it there,” he said.

“But since then it’s been chaos.”

Mr Eaton was shocked when he checked the message as he doesn’t receive notifications from Messenger or Facebook and had no idea it was all ‘going crazy’.

The civil engineer (pictured with his dog Wolfie) has to move to the Gold Coast for work and the post looking for accommodation attracted not only rental properties but also 300 friend requests from around the world

The couple (pictured) had a good laugh over the post which helped Mr Eaton find a place to live

“I’ve had 300 friend requests, including from abroad,” he said.

“It’s really funny.”

And for women hoping Mr Eaton’s girlfriend doesn’t move to the Gold Coast with him and Wolfie, she’ll meet him there at a later date.

And as “crazy” as the comments were, the civil engineer said the post proved useful.

While there are a few properties he likes, he will “probably” choose one that was mentioned to him by a man within the first hour of the post.

‘And I also received nice and sincere messages.’

Despite Mr Eaton’s friends beginning to become aware of the message and teasing him, he decided not to have it removed.

“I really wanted to take it down but Sophie said, ‘You should keep it, it’s quite funny’,” he said.
