An inventor plans to build an outrageous $200 million house inspired by his late daughter that will have 26 rooms, four multi-cuisine kitchens, a four-story wine cellar, a tunnel driveway, a rooftop pool and a helipad .
Mataki Lim has received approval to build his dream 40,000 square meter mansion, which will also have a cinema, nightclub, ballroom, music studio and huge collection rooms in the Western Australian town of Chittering, about 60km east of Perth.
Mr Lim said the house will showcase his company NXT TEC’s prefabricated construction technology, a rapid construction method he invented after moving to Australia from Malaysia at the age of 14.
Australian inventor Mataki Lim plans to build the $200 million, 26-room Madalyn Manor east of Perth
The new home, which was approved by Chittering Shire last week for the 475ha site, will be called Madalyn Manor, in tribute to Mr Lim’s late daughter, who he said collaborated with him on the designs for the “shared dream between the two of us’.
If realized, it is believed that the residence would be one of the world’s largest private houses.
NXT TEC describes Mr Lim as ‘a self-made multi-millionaire whose distinguished career as a property developer, registered builder and in the construction and mechanical engineering sectors spans more than 30 years’.
After graduating with a degree in architecture from the University of Western Australia, Mr Lim became a registered builder and ran a successful construction company until he retired in 2006.
Mr Lim said on Friday he still needs to obtain a building permit and plans to start the three-year construction project in late 2024.
The four kitchens will specialize in preparing French, Swedish, Japanese and Italian cuisine respectively.
In addition to the grand ballroom and dining room, there will be 10 gathering rooms to display Mr Lim’s collected antiques and paintings.
The opulent mansion will have four kitchens, a four-story wine cellar, a ballroom, a music studio, extensive collection rooms and even a bowling alley with arcade
The 475ha site will feature native gardens, 6,000 planted trees and three lakes around a 10km border
Mr Lim moved to Australia from Malaysia at the age of 14 and is a qualified architect
There will also be a car museum, indoor beach volleyball, basketball and squash courts, as well as a bowling alley and an arcade with laser tag.
The rooftop pool overlooks three lakes in the surrounding landscape where the 6,000 trees will be planted in indigenous botanical gardens around a 10 km border.
At an estimated cost at $200 million, the house would easily eclipse the price Mineral Resources boss Chris Ellison and partner Tia paid for their $57.5 million Mosman Park mansion in 2009, making it WA’s most expensive asset.
NXT TEC has only built a small one-storey house in WA so far.
Despite approval being given seven years ago for the construction of a 120-room Wyndham Lux Hotel in Perth’s eastern suburb of Rivervale, construction has yet to begin.
