Aussie furious at ‘sun lounger hoggers’ in Bali who left their towels on sunbeds for NINE HOURS, hailed for an act of ‘small’ revenge: ‘Victory’
- Towels were left unattended on chairs by the pool
- An Aussie couple waited nine hours before moving in
- People often wake up early to reserve sunbeds at the pool
An Aussie couple who woke up at the crack of dawn were stunned to discover that someone had already ‘reserved’ sun loungers next to the pool.
Thom and Lisa found unattended beach towels left on sunbeds at the Grand Barong Resort in Bali before 6:30am on Wednesday morning.
Leaving your towel unfolded on sofa beds will be seen as a sign that the lounge is occupied.
The pair waited nine hours before throwing them aside and taking the seats for themselves, just for the people they put there.
Their response was “priceless,” and Thom shared the “little revenge” online with throngs of followers who agreed it was “sunburn” and disrespectful to leave towels on the seats all day.
At some resorts, there are signs telling tourists that they can only reserve public seats for up to an hour without being physically present.

“We woke up this morning [and] noticed that towels were already placed on the sunbeds in the afternoon shade,” Thom wrote.
‘We carried on with our day and finally arrived at the pool at 1pm to the beds untouched, no one to be seen. At 2pm we told the pool staff we were moving the towels as no one had sat on them.
“Then we waited until 3:30pm for them to finally arrive and the realization that their spots are gone, iPads and books in hand was priceless.”
When the perpetrators arrived to claim their seats, Thom and Lisa made sure not to give them up.
“We literally went out and asked others to bring them along, just to keep the pettiness going,” Lisa said.
The small win was celebrated online by others who had shared similar experiences.
“Am I the only one who hopes there will be a second day for this situation,” one person said.
Another wrote, “Proof that not all heroes wear capes,” another added. “I’d call you both a Bintang if I was there.”
“I would have done the same, but I wouldn’t have waited — if they weren’t there to use it, it’s free for everyone,” a third added.
Thom posted an update of the empty pool chairs on Thursday as a sign of victory.
“Free all morning,” Thom wrote the next day.
Some in the comments praised the couple for not doing that immediately throwing the towels away and saying that some time was needed for owners who may have been swimming.
