Daniel Ricciardo’s participation in the Dutch Grand Prix is in doubt after he was taken to hospital with an injured left hand.
The Australian crashed his AlphaTauri in second practice – an innocent enough accident, apart from the fact that he failed to release his grip on the steering wheel upon impact with the wall.
“Ah, f***, my hand,” the Australian exclaimed after the crash into twisty turn three.
The 34-year-old was taken to hospital for a check-up, with his left arm in a sling.
Red Bull motorsport adviser Dr Helmut Marko said: “We don’t know exactly what it is yet, but he was in a lot of pain. His wrist has been damaged, but it is awaiting the diagnosis.
