- Lyon already shares two daughters with ex-partner Mel Waring
- ‘Garry’ will be a key figure five-Test series versus India this summer
The wife of Australian cricketer Nathan Lyon has finally confirmed the gender of their baby, more than a year after she gave birth – with ‘Garry’ now a father to three girls.
Champion off-spinner Lyon, 36, had two daughters with ex-partner Mel Waring before he and Emma had their first child in September last year, as exclusively revealed by Daily Mail Australia.
Emma Lyon took to Instagram this week, she posted two images with her daughter whom she called “Mini me.”
And in one of the photos, the youngster can be seen wearing a T-shirt that reads ‘daddy’s girl’.
There was no indication that Emma was expecting before the birth of her daughter, with the glamor couple doing a great job of keeping the pregnancy a secret.
She attended the 2023 Ashes tour in the UK with the rest of the Australian team WAGs after marrying Lyon in July 2022 – and appears to have carefully edited the photos she posted to her Instagram to avoid taking photos that would betray a pregnancy.
Even when she was spotted by paparazzi, Emma wore an overcoat that would have covered any tell-tale signs.
The fiercely private couple also strove to keep their engagement a secret before eventually marrying.

Emma and her bowling boyfriend’s relationship began under scandalous circumstances, when they were caught kissing in Perth in late 2017 while Nathan was still with Waring.
Waring detailed their heartbreaking breakup in a blog post in March 2018.
She said on social media that her pain was “real and deep” and recounted nights spent crying in bed with her children.
‘I didn’t ask for this, this wasn’t how my life was supposed to be. He was mine forever, he was my whole world,” she wrote.
Waring has since found love with a new man, but has not revealed his identity.
Lyon and Emma started dating in 2017 and bought their Sydney home together in 2020.
Rumors started circulating that their engagement would take place in 2022.
This was later confirmed when Emma was spotted wearing a sizable ring on her wedding finger during the fourth Test against India at the Gabba, while she also posted on Instagram about her search for a wedding dress.
Lyon will be a key figure for Australia when they host India in a five-Test series this summer.
Perth will host the first test from November 22.
