- Tim hopes to learn some new tricks from the boxing icon
Tim Tszyu has had an emotional family reunion with his legendary father Kostya Tszyu, with the Australian star claiming he hopes to learn some new tricks from the Hall of Famer.
The 29-year-old’s father is considered one of the sport’s all-time greats after winning multiple titles and reigning as the undisputed light-welterweight champion of the world. Yet he hasn’t been seen at many of Tim’s fights over the years.
Tim has a complicated relationship with Kostya, who left Australia more than ten years ago to start a second family in Russia.
Although he is very proud of his father’s achievements, Tim has made it clear that he wants to make his own name in the sport of boxing.

Kostya planned to attend Tim’s recent blockbuster fight with Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas, but logistics made the trip impossible.
On Monday morning, Tim announced that the couple had finally been reunited with a video on social media showing the pair embracing.
“Long in the making,” Tim captioned the music video.
Tim later posted a photo with Kostya on X, in which both father and son seemed very happy to see each other.
“Reunited,” Tim captioned the photo.
‘Time for the old man to teach the young buck a few new tricks.
“I’m coming into this camp with a whole new mentality. Kill or be killed. Back to the old school. The roots I grew up in.’
The former champion has already lined up his next opponent and will take on undefeated knockout artist Vergil Ortiz Jr. in August.

The pair will face off on a blockbuster card headlined by boxing superstar Terence Crawford, who takes on WBA super welterweight champion Israil Madrimov.
Ortiz recently sent a blunt message to Tszyu after finishing his opponent Thomas Dulorme with a vicious body shot in Round 1.
“Hey Tim man, I know you’re watching this fight right now. I’m ready for you, man,” Ortiz said.
‘We are ready. Let’s prepare for World War III.’
Ortiz’s promoter, boxing icon Oscar de la Hoya, predicts fireworks when his fighter meets Tszyu.
“With Tim Tszyu it will be a war,” De la Hoya said.
“I have one thousand percent confidence in my husband, but you can’t sleep on Tim Tszyu.
‘I like his style, his aggression and his power. This fight will be a battle of the titans.
“Vergil Ortiz stopping this fight in one round will give him the confidence to get back in the gym and I promise you he will knock out Tim Tszyu.”
