An Australian guy quits his job on the spot after winning the $2.5 million Lotto prize
A Broadford man has admitted he will remain under house arrest and focus on ensuring a good future for his children after scooping $2.5 million in this weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Victorian resident had one of eight winning Division 1 entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4395 on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Each winning Division 1 entry raised $2.5 million.
It took a little longer for the winning man to discover his new fortune as the winning entry from division one was unregistered, meaning The Lott officials had to wait for him to check his ticket and come forward.
“Oh my god, this is incredible!” the winning man exclaimed when an official from The Lott called to confirm his stroke of luck.
‘You know what, I’m doing exceptionally well now!

‘I don’t know what to do though! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
“We play most weeks, and I’ve always followed the philosophy that you have to be there to win.
‘Although you never really expect that.
‘I’m going to retire straight away, I think. I’ve had a good working life, but this has made it much easier to retreat and enjoy the rest of my life in a more relaxed way.
‘I’m also going to pay off my child’s mortgage. Things are tough right now and I can’t wait to help them move forward and prepare for the future.
“I have no doubt that this victory will do great things for many people.
“Thank you very much for this.”
His division one winning entry was purchased from Broadford Newsagency, 67 High Street, Broadford.
