A father and daughter have been captured in a uniquely Australian moment arguing while removing ticks from the father’s pet snake.

The Tasmanian father, a certified snake handler, and his daughter were filmed fighting when she was startled by the extremely venomous tiger snake he had pinned to a table.

Video of the interaction was posted to the ebbs1987 TikTok channel on Sunday, with the caption “he loves them.” [snakes] more than their own children’.

The video shows the daughter using Akubra nervously searching for ticks among the snake’s scales.

“That’s pretty big there,” she says.

“You haven’t seen anything yet,” replies the father, while immobilizing the animal.

Then the woman seems to tear off one of the snake’s scales instead of a tick, the beast opens its mouth and turns sharply towards the woman.

‘Oh fuck, dad,’ the woman yells in shock.

The father, shirtless and unfazed by the experience, mutters “I’d be sour with you, too.”

The two then grow frustrated with each other, taking the time to trade insults while handling the potentially deadly animal.

‘Look what you’re doing, will you?’, scolds the father.

“A snake almost bit me,” the woman replies.

“It wasn’t like that,” replies the father.

After a few more fights, the snake shakes again as the woman makes another attempt to remove the tick, scaring her once more.

“Oh my gosh, mom, you’re a baby,” says the son of the woman behind the camera.

The two then get back together and treat the snake again.

TikTok users were quick to take to the post and comment on how Australian the situation was.

“This is your typical Aussie drama, I love it,” wrote one commenter.
