Augsburg 0-3 Dortmund: Sebastien Haller scores twice to put Dortmund on the brink of Bundesliga glory, sending them to the top of the table after Bayern Munich drop points
- Sebastian Haller scored twice to give Borussia Dortmund a 3-0 win against Augsburg
- The result means Edin Terzic’s side top the Bundesliga with one game to go
- Bayern Munich dropped points on Saturday to give their rivals an advantage
Sebastien Haller inspired Borussia Dortmund to a 3-0 win with a stunning run of goals against Augsburg on Sunday afternoon.
The result means Edin Terzic’s side will overtake Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich at the top of the standings with just one game to play.
Dortmund have not won a league title since the 2011–12 season and goals from Haller and Julian Brandt may have just put them on the verge of ending their league trophy drought.
It comes after their rivals, Bayern, dropped points in a devastating 3-1 defeat to RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena yesterday.
After today’s game, Dortmund now leads Thomas Tuchel’s side at the top of the standings by two points.
For Augsburg, the result means they are still in danger of relegation, two points behind VFL Bochum in 16th place, with a game against Borussia Mönchengladbach next week.
