An Audi driver accused of side-swiping and injuring a motorcyclist during an alleged road rage incident on one of Sydney’s busy roads has been charged and had his driver’s license suspended.

The development emerged on Wednesday after terrifying images of Saturday’s crash on the Hume Highway near the Campbelltown Road flyover near Casula went viral.

The terrifying dashcam of the alleged incident shows a motorbike and a silver Audi crossing back and forth between lanes just before the collision.

The Audi rear-ends in the right lane before accelerating and colliding with the motorcycle, sending the rider careening across four lanes before crashing into a barrier.

The man was charged on Saturday and his driver’s license was revoked due to this incident

Police suspect that the Audi hatchback then drove away.

The images show how several passing motorists stop and rush to the aid of the seriously injured motorcyclist lying on the road.

The motorcyclist, 50, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

While police were on scene, the driver of the Audi returned and spoke to officers.

The 55-year-old man gave a negative breath test.

The police have started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following an investigation, police charged the 55-year-old man with reckless/furious driving or dangerous speed/manner, and causing bodily harm by misconduct while operating a motor vehicle.

He will appear in Campbelltown Local Court on November 21.

The man’s driver’s license was also confiscated.
