Aubrey Plaza returns to the Met Gala for the first time in a decade

Aubrey Plaza returned to the annual Met Gala for the first time in a decade on Monday, taking to the red carpet with her dress’s designer, Stella McCartney.

Plaza, 38, and McCartney, 51, posed on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, along with actress Madelyn Cline.

The Parks and Recreation star — who rocked a classy red look on the Time 100 red carpet last week — beamed in a one-of-a-kind gown.

Plaza hit the red carpet in an off-the-shoulder white dress designed by McCartney with an unconventional cutout that ran diagonally across her chest.

The cutout was accentuated with shimmering silver fabric that also draped her back and fell to her hip.

The actress wore her black hair in a bun while accessorizing it with diamond-encrusted teardrop earrings.

She also donned a pair of elbow-length black gloves, wore a massive diamond ring on each hand, and a silver diamond-encrusted bracelet on her left wrist.

The dress fell all the way onto the carpet with a little train behind her, obscuring her footwear for the evening.

Plaza was styled by Jessica Plaster while Mark Townsend worked on her hair and made a statement in a press release.

“Working with Aubrey Plaza for the Met Gala is a dream come true, I was so happy to style her hair for the big night,” said Townsend.

“After seeing the beautiful Stella McCartney dress she started wearing Aubrey and I immediately thought the hair should be a bit heavier so we decided to top knot,” he added.

Plaza is coming off a big year in 2022, starring in HBO’s The White Lotus and the hit Netflix movie Emily the Criminal.

After her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live in January, Plaza revealed on The Tonight Show that she once auditioned for SNL.
