Atlético Madrid could sign former Manchester United striker Memphis Depay to replace Chelsea-bound Joao Félix.

The LaLiga team has contacted Barcelona for the loan of the Dutch star for the remainder of the season, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Despite his impressive performances at the World Cup, the 28-year-old is out of Xavi Hernández’s plans at the Camp Nou.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly contacted Barcelona about the Memphis Depay loan deal.

And with Diego Simeone’s men set to temporarily lose Felix to Chelsea, Atleti reportedly asked Barca about Depay’s availability.

Depay endured a difficult spell at Old Trafford between 2015 and 2017, scoring just seven goals in 53 appearances.

He left for Lyon before securing a move to Barcelona in 2021.

But the Dutchman has slipped down the pecking order at the Camp Nou and has only featured four times this season.

He did start in his recent Copa del Rey match with Intercity, but his last league outing was in September.

Félix’s influencer girlfriend, Margarida Corceiro, has confirmed on Instagram that she will fly to London with the Portuguese star ahead of his medical with Chelsea, as he prepares to join the Blues on loan until the end of the season.

Sportsmail reported yesterday that the Blues are expected to defeat Manchester United and Arsenal with the 23-year-old forward signing on loan.
