Horrifying moment 11-year-old boy is chased down the street and shot multiple times by gunman in Atlanta: Cops hunt for three gunmen

Three mysterious gunmen who chased, shot and wounded an 11-year-old boy along a busy Atlanta freeway are still on the run.

Officers said they arrived on the scene around 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 15 and found the boy suffering from two gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital.

City police have released surveillance footage of the shocking incident in the hope of identifying the trio.

The footage shows the boy — whose name is not given — furtively looking over his shoulder as he sprints through a parking lot just off Martin Luther King Drive in northwest Atlanta.

He then cuts to a divided highway where three men quickly cross before fleeing.

The suspects approach the parking lot before they appear to spot the boy, who had tried to hide next to a laundromat and tire shop.

Everyone pulls out a handgun and they open fire in his direction several times.

A car swerves amid the commotion, and moments later all three men quickly retreat before running back down the dual carriageway.

Atlanta police described the suspects as “three black men” when they shared the video and urged anyone with information to contact them.

In the video, all three wear black hooded jackets, dark pants and white shoes.
