At 48 hours a week, Indians 6th most hardworking globally: ILO data

Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy recently sparked a debate when he said that young people should work 70 hours a week, but in fact, Indians are already the sixth most hardworking among the world’s 163 countries.

The ranking is based on the average number of hours per week for each worker in India, which is 47.7 hours, according to the latest International Labor Organization (ILO) data as of April 2023.
