Mercury is currently going retrograde for the third time this year, with astrology experts claiming it could be to blame for things going drastically wrong.
Mercury retrograde, a time when the planet appears to be traveling backwards rather than forwards, began on September 9 and will continue through October 2.
From problems with technology to relationship disasters, some believe this period is wreaking havoc.
Now, astrology experts have told FEMAIL what to expect — and what to avoid.

Delay signing contracts
During Mercury in retrograde, experts advised not to put pen to paper when it comes to big decisions.
Famed clairvoyant and astrologer Inbaal Honigman explained, “It’s best to put off signing new contracts, completing job applications, and completing a house.
‘The retrograde period only lasts about three weeks, so if you can postpone things – do it.
“Even if all goes well, it’s not worth risking autocorrect changing your new job description from hairdresser to baker.”
Don’t rely on technology
Wellness practitioner Harriet said it’s common to see more problems with your electronic devices, revealing: “During retrogrades, we often see technology play up more than usual — phones freezes, social media crashes, lost passwords, etc.
“As technology is a big part of today’s communication, we tend to find our reliance on it being tested.”
Inbaal agreed and revealed: ‘Anything and everything around communication can go wrong.
“We live in a digital world, so the loss of our Wi-Fi is just a small mistake, but it affects everything in the house.
‘Book cinema tickets for the wrong day.
Calling your partner by your ex’s name. Everything is communication and a lot is at stake.’
She added that some “safe activities” include a quiet walk, a pub crawl, baking or yoga.
Air signs need to be careful
When it comes to who is most at risk of something going wrong, Chris warned that certain zodiac signs will be affected more than others.
“We are currently in a Mercury retrograde that started on September 9, where this retrograde started in Libra, so the air signs are most affected this month, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius,” he said.
“The air signs are associated with friendship, harmony and romance, so we can expect more passion in our connections, but we can also see things coming to the surface, and some things we might not necessarily expect.
“Maybe we’re seeing one or two surprises along the lines of a relationship, and maybe we’re dealing with some things that we just didn’t expect.”
Chris added: “Mercury retrograde is a good time to turn inward, focus on ourselves, take care of ourselves, love for ourselves and do everything we haven’t had time for.
“Maybe it’s a time to give back something you haven’t done, or something you just haven’t finished yet.
“It’s also a time to reflect on some of our own behavior, especially when it comes to relationships, and a time when we might think about the past and with that we sometimes find closure and calm in some situations.”
Time for self reflection
While it may be an unsettling time for some, it’s also a good time for some self-love, Chris explains.

Harriet added, “Retrogrades are a powerful time for self-reflection. This is a great time for inner work and self-care.
“Make sure to be kind to yourself during these few weeks. Often memories from the past, people and connections resurface. Each of these situations, when presented to us, provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the ways you have grown and changed, or to review something from your past that still needs some healing or forgiveness.
“Make time for yourself and use this as a window of time to collect any heaviness, outdated beliefs or themes from your past and choose to leave them behind for good.”
