Images of a mother refusing to move out of the way of skaters and scooter riders have caused outrage on the internet.
The video was shot by ScooterBrad, an avid scooter rider, at what is believed to be the Gordon Spratt Reserve Skate Park in Pāpāmoa on New Zealand’s North Island.
He walked over to the woman, whom he saw standing in the middle of the park talking to another woman, and asked her and her children to step aside.
The footage shows the scooter rider waiting at the top of a ramp before saying, “If they don’t have wheels, they don’t belong in the skate park.”
He then asked them to “move aside,” to which the mother replied that the children were “just running around.”
She explained that they “didn’t have access to our scooter and skateboard,” before telling Brad to “leave us alone.”
Fearing that the children might accidentally be hit by a cyclist, Brad asked the mother again to obey the park rules and move to a nearby grassy area.
“We’re just leaving,” the woman is heard saying.

She then stopped in the middle of the skate park, further frustrating the scooter rider.
When the mother tried to leave the park without enthusiasm, Brad scolded her for not heeding the warnings.
“Come on, you’re the adult, come on, it’s for your protection and their protection,” Brad said in the TikTok video.
‘You can walk around the park, you can walk around the sidewalks where your feet go, this is a roller skating rink complex.
“You just have to take some responsibility.”
The video received thousands of comments from viewers shocked by the mother’s behavior at the skate park.
“Why is it so hard for people to say ‘oops, sorry about that’ and just move on,” one person wrote.

A second said the danger was ‘equivalent to standing in the middle of the road’.
Others praised Brad for trying to deal calmly with ‘Karen’ while at the same time telling her about the dangers.
“Here’s a guy taking care of Karen at the skate park,” one viewer wrote.
Another added: ‘You were really polite, but Karen needs a Karen.’
