This is the astonishing moment a Brazilian Uber driver delivers a baby in the back of her car and then doesn’t even charge for the ride.
Iara Alencar dos Santos told how she became an amateur midwife ‘in seconds’.
The 30-year-old accepted a 6km journey to take a woman and her mother-in-law from her home to a hospital.
It wasn’t until she arrived at the pick-up point in Brasília, Brazil, that she realized her passenger was eight months pregnant. During the ride, Sandy, 21, unexpectedly went into labor.
Footage shows Iara’s incredible reaction as Sandy gave birth in the backseat on Monday.

“It’s out,” the new mother shouts, while Iara asks: “What’s out, girl?”
Sandy then replies, “The head!”
Iara is heard saying, “My God in heaven,” as she quickly stops the car to help the mother and her mother-in-law.
Sandy is seen in the backseat giving birth before Iara carries the crying baby in her arms in a joyous moment, giving the mother time for some much-needed rest.
“I changed from driver to midwife in seconds,” Iara, who gave birth to her son via caesarean section, told local media.
‘I knew she was in pain, but I didn’t know the birth would happen so quickly.
‘We never thought we wouldn’t have time to get to the hospital because it was so close. But the baby didn’t want to wait…

It took just a few minutes for little Yure Adrian to come into the world.
The trio were just meters away from the hospital when Iara stopped the car and honked the horn to alert the doctors.
The cord was reportedly around the baby boy’s neck as the driver carefully unwound it from the newborn.
She says she “felt no fear” and is “still ecstatic” about the incredible moment.
Doctors later came out to cut the umbilical cord while Iara still had it in her hand, as the newborn urinated all over her clothes.
Sandy and Yure were then admitted to the hospital and Iara was able to leave.
The baby. Both mother and son are reportedly doing well
The baby. Father Michael Adrian, 31, who had already left for work when the tragedy unfolded, told local media he was grateful for Iara’s help
She has since been told that both mother and son are doing well.
Sandy, who also has a toddler daughter, has already been fired.
Father Michael Adrian, 31, who had already left for work when the tragedy unfolded, told local media he was grateful for Iara’s help.
He said: ‘To me it is touching how much compassion she had for my wife. I have no words.
“I think it was a godsend, this driver, because not everyone has that kind of compassion.
“The car got dirty and she wouldn’t even charge for the ride.”
Yure is expected to be discharged in the coming days.
Michael added, “I’m already dying to order an Uber to leave the hospital.”
