Jhon Duran came off the bench for Aston Villa this season and scored six goals in all competitions, with Unai Emery making an impressive start to the season.

He doesn’t score any tap-ins either. The Colombian is known for his daring finishes and outrageous attacks from distance.

The striker was at the top of his game this week as he fired the ball from distance past a stranded Manuel Neuer to give Villa a famous 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

By making the super-sub role his own, Duran has caused his manager headaches, with 20-year-old outscoring England star Ollie Watkins still the starting No.9 for the West Midlands side.

Here, Mail Sport’s Danny Murphy takes a look at the striker’s impressive catalog of glorious finishes, as Duran continues his one-man Goal of the Season contest.

West Ham (a) 17 AUGUST

Showed great awareness here. He was deliberately offside at the start of the action, but slowed down to allow defenders to pass him.

That made him difficult to mark and he produced a fine first-time finish from Ian Maatsen’s low cross.

Leicester (a) August 31

His first touch after arriving and a great example of his power. When Lucas Digne’s cross came in, he gave his marker Caleb Okoli a little push, Alan Shearer style.

It gave him just that little bit of space and he buried the header.

Everton (h) 14 SEP

The young Colombian has shown fantastic strength with his long-range shooting, but this was the best example yet.

It was a stunning strike – and capped a fantastic comeback for Villa. One of the goals of the Premier League season so far.

Wolves (h) 21 SEP

That word consciousness again.

A young striker could easily be too enthusiastic on the break and wander a yard or two offside, but Duran delayed his run until the right moment and got his reward.

Wycombe (a) September 24

A rare start for Villa’s super sub. He delivered the result, winning the penalty and showing the confidence of an in-form striker by sending the keeper the wrong way and firing the penalty into the bottom right corner.

Bayern Munich (h) 2 OCT

The biggest goal of his career and one that emphasized his composure.

It would have been understandable to get nervous against the great Manuel Neuer in such a big match. But with the goalkeeper off his line, Duran executed his finish perfectly.
