Unai Emery will talk to Emiliano Martínez after the goalkeeper’s controversial celebration of Argentina’s World Cup triumph.
Martínez made an obscene gesture after receiving the Golden Glove for the tournament’s best goalkeeper and has continued to taunt French star Kylian Mbappe in the days that followed.

Emery has granted Martinez extra time after Qatar 2022, meaning he will miss the Boxing Day clash with Liverpool, but should be available for the trip to Tottenham on New Year’s Day.
“I said before the World Cup that each player would have a minimum of seven days off after the tournament and a maximum of 12,” Emery explained. “So I hope that Emiliano comes on Thursday and is available for Tottenham.”
