Aston Martin DBX707 renewal: Super SUV gets a new interior and infotainment and omits the less powerful version

The 2025 Aston Martin DBX707 has already arrived.

The British brand’s best-selling model is back with extra luxury, a tailor-made infotainment system… and a higher price tag.

Major changes to the luxurious five-seat 4X4 include a more luxurious interior and infotainment upgrades, but there are also a few tweaks to the exterior styling and raw performance.

But these improvements don’t come cheap!

When the new version goes on sale this spring, you can expect to pay an eye-watering £205,000 – that’s a £10,000 premium on the existing £195,000 price tag.

And from now on, it’s only going to be powerful for the DBX, with only the range-topping 707 powertrain arriving for summer delivery.

Most of the changes are in the interior, with Aston Martin giving it a refresh of materials, technology and extras. The Tangerine interior is – fortunately – one of the many options

Aston Martin BDX – what’s new?

The interior refresh begins with the introduction of Aston Martin’s next-generation multi-screen infotainment system.

The driver now gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster – around 1.5 inches larger than the DB12 or Vantage displays.

And the central 10.25-inch touchscreen comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, full online connectivity and gesture control with one or more fingers – a bit like BMW’s gesture system.

But the British brand hasn’t stripped the cockpit of control switches; Buttons are still plentiful for heating and ventilation, as well as manual control switches for the suspension, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), lane keep assist and park distance control.

The luxury performance car maker said: ‘This continues Aston Martin’s philosophy of creating the perfect blend between digital and analogue controls’ – a welcome concept as safety regulators have called on carmakers to reverse their reliance on touchscreen systems and safety group Euro NCAP. warned that it would downgrade models that replace simple buttons with main controls.

There are three interior trims to choose from: Inspire Comfort, Inspire Sport and Accelerate – all of which you can customize via the Q by Aston Martin service

Although the screens have been updated, the DBX still comes with a useful and healthy number of dials and buttons, including manual temperature, fan and volume controls

Still, the DBX707’s cabin manages to feel clean and contemporary, with redesigned D-pull door handles, a new steering wheel, vertical air vents – and accent options in bright or dark chrome.

Music lovers can add a 23-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system for incredible sound.

The range of materials has been expanded to bring a sports car and modern luxury feel even closer together, with gloss smoked oak and carbon door veneer just some of the sleek new choices.

Inspire Comfort, Inspire Sport and Accelerate are the three equipment options; Each example has different quilts and materials, and you can customize each one individually through the Q by Aston Martin service.

Appearance changes are quite minimal – ‘tweaks’ rather than changes. The revised DBX features five new liveries, Aston Martin’s latest ‘Wings’ badge and two new 23-inch alloy wheels.

The door handles now ‘flip’ outwards when the car is unlocked and the new frameless door mirrors can rotate to improve rearward visibility and better support the Driver Assistance System (ADAS) cameras.

Exterior changes to the DBX are minimal but include new ‘pop-out’ door handles that lie flat against the car and then unfold to welcome you, while the door mirrors are now frameless and swivel to improve safety

The DBX will continue to be powered by a 707bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. It accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h

Underneath, the updated DBX707 from the British supercar and sports car manufacturer retains the same basis as it has since its launch in 2022.

It’s still powered by a 707bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 3.1 seconds.

The top speed will be 313 km/h.

If you haven’t heard the DBX coming before, you’ll hear it now, thanks to the revised exhaust system that delivers the V8 sound more consistently with three additional modes.

Better calibrated electronic dampers and air springs aim to increase body control to improve dynamic performance and driving experience, but fuel economy isn’t easy on the wallet: just 20 mpg.

The move to a single-engine offering – the lower-output 542bhp version has been dropped – is thanks to the 707 outpacing its lower-performance counterpart by almost two-thirds last year.

The new DBX will be closely followed by a new V12 DBS, and Aston Martin’s announcement that it will continue to sell combustion engine cars for as long as this is allowed.
