Assassin’s Creed Shadows gets a stylish new trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase
Assassin’s Creed Shadows just got a brand new trailer that combines story and gameplay during the Xbox Games Showcase as part of the Summer Game Fest 2024 event.
This latest trailer, which debuted ahead of Ubisoft’s June 11 presentation, gave us a new look at the feudal Japanese setting and the journey of the game’s dual protagonists: Naoe Fujibayashi and Yasuke.
This is one of the first gameplay footage, showcasing Naoe’s penchant for stealth and sabotage, combined with Yasuke’s fierce environment-destroying power. All this is set against beautiful environmental design, as we have come to expect from the Assassin’s Creed series.
Judging from the gameplay trailer, Naoe plays very much like a classic Assassin’s Creed main character, similar to Altair and Ezio. She is incredibly agile and seems to transition seamlessly from killing to moving. It all looks incredibly fluid and bodes well for fans of the series’ first entries.
Yasuke, meanwhile, seems to be embracing the latter’s more aggressive style Assassin’s Creed RPGs with their focus on tough battles. His fighting style looks incredibly brutal, in addition to being able to stun enemies into intimidation with a roaring scream. The trailer shows that he can also equip several types of weapons, including an odachi (basically a huge katana) and a polearm.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches on November 15, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series A full gameplay reveal will be shown during the Ubisoft Forward presentation, taking place tomorrow, June 10. Hopefully this gives us a much deeper dive into it Shadows’ different systems, including combat and character progression.
