Ashley Roberts grimaces as she falls into water while tackling UK’s ‘most extreme’ assault course for Global’s very wet and muddy charity challenge

Ashley Roberts endured a day of testing on Tuesday as she tackled Britain’s ‘most extreme’ obstacle course, grimacing as she fell into a puddle of water.

The Pussycat Doll, 42, undertakes five crazy challenges in five days alongside Heart’s Amanda Holden, 52, in a bid to raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise Charity.

And after Amanda kicked off Monday by climbing the Blackpool Tower, Ashley took up the challenge.

Ashley got stuck in the mud as she raced against the clock on the 7-28k stampede, while finding £15,000 in donations hidden.

Ashley, who created ‘The Nuts Challenge’, had 50 minutes while live on Heart Breakfast where she had to crawl on her hands and knees and climb through obstacles along muddy banks and cargo nets.

Ashley wore skin-tight red leggings and a matching jacket for her participation in the grueling course.

Underneath, she wore a white three-quarter-zip sweater and white shoes and socks – which were quickly ruined when she plunged into a puddle of muddy water.

Despite being covered in dirt, Ashley seemed in good spirits after completing all the obstacles.

She held up bags of money as she posed in front of a red buzzer at the finish line.

After completing the challenge, Ashley said: ‘It was all terrible in a way.

‘I rinsed it out a bit, but I still think there’s mud in my hair that hasn’t completely gotten out yet.

“But yeah, it’s just been wet, muddy and cold going through all this. But you know, it’s worth it! It’s for charity.’

A day earlier, Amanda made history by courageously climbing 150 meters to reach the top of Blackpool Tower while presenting Heart FM.

The first challenge on Monday morning saw Amanda climb to the top of the tower and claim the title as the first person to ever do so.

Despite walking onto the tourist attraction, Amanda seemed in good spirits as she posed for a photo with both arms in the air.

The daredevil managed to reach all the way to the top and hit the flagpole in an impressive 57 minutes and 59 seconds.

After completing the heartbreaking challenge, the TV personality said on radio: “Jamie, I think I have to tell you now, they challenged me, they said, ‘If you go up one more iron kind of curly bit, we actually went higher than anyone else’.

“Red Arrows Wing Commander Adam Collins is the only person who has gone as far as me, and now I have gone higher than him.

“So I’ve officially gone higher than anyone else has ever gone!”

‘To be honest, I was absolutely terrified, my knees and legs were breaking down. You learn to trust the equipment a bit.

‘I’ve never fainted in my life and when I reached the top I suddenly thought: this is where I’m going!’

‘Just donations, that’s all we need, this is for Global’s Make Some Noise, it’s honestly the scariest thing I’ve ever done in my life, and I’ve done it for all these little charities.

“If you can afford it this morning, please give what you can.”

Amanda, Ashley and Jamie Theakston are celebrating ten years of changing lives by supporting small projects across the UK, including in the areas of mental health, food poverty, domestic abuse, homelessness and loneliness.
