Alongside a series of holiday snaps, Ashley reflected on her incredible journey.
But the caption got more serious when she opened up about the tragic incident.
Terrifying: Ashley James has opened up about a ‘horrible experience’ where a stranger died in front of her eyes during a family trip in Belgium
She wrote, “Hello, I just want to check in. We are on a European road trip with the whole family. We dreamed of traveling during Tommy’s paternity leave with Alfie, but it ended up being a lockdown. Anyway, here we are now.
‘I have so much to say about all of you, but let me start by saying that Bruges is beautiful. So beautiful. A little stressful with two babies – we say most of the time we can’t wait to come back alone because it’s so romantic, but I’m so glad I’m here to create memories with the little ones.
“However, we had a terrible experience. I can’t stop thinking about it, and I’m not really sure if I should share it or not. I still do not know. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I still do not know.
TW: Dead.
“A man died in our hotel. Tommy and Alf went out in the morning and left Ada and I in our room. Our room was about 10 steps up a flight of stairs and at the bottom of the stairs was another room.
“I went downstairs and there was a man down there who was being resuscitated. I ran back upstairs, but I heard everything. I won’t go into details, but I’m sure you can imagine it wasn’t fun to hear and witness. I feel so sorry for all his loved ones.
“Tommy couldn’t get into the hotel and I couldn’t leave the room, and for a split second Tommy thought it could be Ada or me because I lost my phone.
Either way, it certainly reminds us how precious life is. How not to go to bed angry at people we love. About how short life can be. It keeps repeating in my mind.

“And also, wow, paramedics are just heroes, aren’t they? ❤️
“For now, all I want to say is life is too short not to do what you love to do… hugging your loved ones. And try not to go to bed angry with anyone. ❤️’
It comes after Ashley revealed that her period had returned, almost four months after giving birth to her second child.
The Made In Chelsea star, 36, admitted she was “in mourning” over its return, as it implied her body was “no longer in the newborn stage” after welcoming her daughter Ada in March.
In a video posted to her Instagram Stories, Ashley told her followers that the return of her period “hit her like a ton of bricks” and left her feeling “physically disgusting.”
She said in the clip, “Actually, my period came back very unexpectedly while still breastfeeding, and not only did I expect it, but it hit me like a ton of bricks emotionally.
“I feel really down, but strangely I also feel like I’m physically disgusting, so it feels like my whole headspace is flat, so I’m just trying to get out of it.”

“I think it’s a bit like grieving because my body isn’t in the newborn baby stage anymore, but yeah, I’m here and I’m fine, but yeah, it came at me like a blow .’
In the caption to her post, Ashley added, “Wow, the first period after giving birth… I can’t remember if it was such a journey!
“I just feel full of self-loathing. I’m taking apart my body (which I actually never do anymore), my whole personality, my whole life and life choices. It is much.
“I just acknowledge that it’s because of the hormones and going with the flow (literally).”
