Ashley James breast pumps live on TV without anyone noticing as she declares mothers should be able to feed their babies ‘unashamedly’ ‘without compromise’
Ashley James has revealed that she was pumping during her performance on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Wednesday.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 35, took to Instagram to tell her followers about the ‘stressful’ behind the scenes of her live show performance.
Ashley, WHO welcomed her second child, Ada, with boyfriend Tommy Andrews in March, explaining that she had woken up with very swollen breasts.
She admitted she was “freaked out” ahead of the show and sent her agent to get her a breast pump.
She could hide the discreet and ‘quiet’ pump under her shirt and jacket and keep it on for the entire program.

Ashley added that incredibly no one noticed she was pumping except for the producers and host Steph McGovern who constantly checked to make sure everything was okay.
She called the experience “amazing” and said she was “so glad” she did it because “breastfeeding mothers should be able to pump or breastfeed their babies without compromise.”
She shared a role of hers on the show feeding Ada backstage, recounting the day to her followers.
In the lengthy caption, Ashley wrote, “Absolutely loved being back at Steph’s Packed Lunch today! I just love the people and the atmosphere of the show.
“But behind the scenes today was stressful, I won’t lie. HONEST SHOUT TO THE ELVIE STRIDE BREAST PUMP BECAUSE IT SAVED ME.
‘I often get asked how I balance work and motherhood and I think today is the perfect example!
#I was SO happy to talk to Laura Jackson who was also on the show – she had her little boy with her and it was such a relief to know it’s not just me.
“That’s the problem with juggling, it can sometimes feel like you’re the only one trying because on the outside it feels like everyone else is doing it better?”
She continued, “Anyway, I woke up with very swollen breasts. They were red and so sore. I panicked – especially considering I would be away from Ada for a few hours. I’m already freaking out that she might have to eat while I’m on TV!

‘My agent Amy ran out and bought me an Elvie because I’ve always used their pumps and I love how discreet they are – and she came back with an Elvie Stride!!
