Ash Barty enjoys cake for breakfast as she celebrates son Hayden’s first birthday with husband Garry Kissick
Ash Barty looked like a proud mom on Tuesday as she celebrated her son Hayden’s first birthday.
The 28-year-old former tennis star posted an adorable family photo on Instagram, in which she and her husband Garry Kissick can be seen posing with their only child.
“Cake for breakfast,” the Wimbledon champion captioned the cheerful snap, which showed the trio laughing happily in front of an echidna-shaped birthday cake.
Ash’s fans responded en masse to the heartwarming post, sending their best wishes for young Hayden and his famous mother.
‘He’s so cute! A mini Ash!’ wrote one person, while another said: ‘Beautiful photo, can’t wait to see you on the pitch Ash.’
A third commented: ‘Happy birthday Hayden! Your parents look so proud and the memories of this day will stay with them forever.’
‘Take it out boy, happiest first birthday handsome boy. See you soon for the biggest birthday hug,’ added another.
The party comes days after Ash revealed she’s releasing a new tennis-themed children’s book, two years after her retirement from the sport.

The Australian tennis champion retired at the height of her career in March 2022 at the age of 25 and is now exploring new challenges.
Last Thursday she announced on Instagram that she has created a series of children’s books about her beloved sport, called Tennis Camp Diaries.
The first book in the series is called Doubles Disaster and is expected to be released on July 3. Ash shares photos of herself proudly posing with the book.

Alongside the snaps, the mother of one wrote: ‘So excited to share my brand new children’s book series with you all.
The book is called Tennis Camp Diaries and the first book Doubles Disaster follows the highs and lows of Ash’s visit to tennis camp, participation in a doubles tournament and other fun adventures.
“It was amazing to work with the Little Ash team, Jasmin McGaughey and Jade Goodwin, again to create this story. Book one comes out July 3rd. I can’t wait for everyone to read it!”
This isn’t Ash’s first foray into children’s literature. She previously collaborated with Jasmin McGaughey on the 10-book Little Ash series.
