Ash Barty is releasing her first picture book for children, a year after shocking the sporting world by announcing her retirement from tennis.
The 27-year-old will team up with writer Jasmin McGaughey, illustrator Jade Goodwin and publisher HarperCollins to release her new book ‘My Dream For You’ in March 2024.
The story is about a mother’s dream to share precious moments with her new baby, such as playing in a park and traveling the world.
“I’m so excited about the release of this beautiful picture book,” said Ash.
“It’s a celebration of the possibilities that await new babies, a testament to the hope every parent holds, and a reminder that our dreams can shape a better future for our children.”

It comes a year after Ash released a series of children’s books titled Little Ash, following her retirement from the sport.
The series was the first Australian children’s launch of 2022 and has sold more than 100,000 copies since release.
Ash’s memoir, My Dream Time, was also the number one book in the country for Christmas 2022 and won the ABIA for Best Biography 2022.

The reigning Australian Open champion previously said she was inspired to start writing books by her six-year-old niece Lucy.
“The project was so much fun and something I always wanted to do,” she said.
“Lucy was my north star. She is the perfect age to understand stories and storylines and read chapter books.
“It will be great to read it to her, and reading to children in rural areas is something I really want to get into.”
