Former Emmerdale star Asan N’jie has landed a role in a new Disney film, four years after being dropped from the ITV soap.
The actor, 28, lost the Ellis Chapman on the show when footage emerged of him threatening to stab Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas, 28, at the 2019 TV Choice Awards.
But now his career is on the rise after the incident and he will star alongside John Travolta in Disney’s Christmas movie The Shepard, due out this winter.
Based on the novel by Frederick Forsyth, the story follows a fighter pilot on his way home on Christmas Eve.
Asan took to his social media to share a photo from IMBD which also features other cast members Steven Mackintosh from Dalgleish and Millie Kent from The Split.

Since leaving Emmerdale under a cloud, Asan has appeared in BBC1’s Bloodlands opposite James Nesbitt and BBC2’s Industry.
During the 2019 brawl that led to his firing, Asan was seen slapping his fellow actor Jamie and yelling “I’m gonna f*****g kill you” to shocked onlookers.
N’Jie had been involved in a knife plot on Emmerdale before the incident.
On footage from the night, he could be heard saying, “Do you think you’re a great big man?” I’m gonna fucking kill you. I’m going to fuck you with a knife.’
After the then-Emmerdale actor threw the punch, I’m A Celebrity’s Malique Thompson-Dwyer ran into the room to intervene and get Jamie out.
Following the attack, an ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Emmerdale has suspended Asan N’Jie pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel’.
ITV executives met him this morning and as a result Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.”
The actor’s final scenes aired in mid-October, and stardom has remained low ever since. He has been replaced on the soap by Aaron Anthony.
N’jie apologized for his actions and said afterwards, ‘My behavior at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very strange.
“I am devastated, accept full responsibility and am determined to learn from this.”

According to reports, the pair had to be separated by security twice at the Hilton Park Lane hotel in Mayfair, London, with Asan finally being escorted off the premises by staff around 11pm.
Asan left with co-star Jay Kontzle and another woman while Jamie stayed at the hotel until 2am drinking with Love Island star Amber Gill and Malique.
It is now alleged that the confrontation was over one of Asan’s friends and Emmerdale co-stars, with whom Jamie is currently in a ‘financial dispute’.

The sun reported at the time that Jamie had ‘managed’ a young actor from his club, First Take School of Acting, and ‘secured’ him a part in Emmerdale.
A source told the publication: ‘Jamie had managed this young lad’s career and was responsible for landing him a gig in Emmerdale.
However, he has since decided that he wants to leave Jamie’s agency, which is fine with Jamie, but he wants the commission due to him.
“He is entitled to this money, but it is currently the subject of a private and personal dispute.”
The Sun claims that Asan, knowing about the ‘financial dispute’, decided to ‘goad’ Jamie about the ongoing proceedings and said ‘okay, Jamie big b*****ks’.
MailOnline contacted Jamie and Asan’s representatives for comment at the time.
