Leona Lewis’s festive hit One More Sleep has been named the most played modern Christmas song in Britain.
According to data from the Official chartsSince its release in 2013, the hit has now amassed the equivalent of fourteen weeks of continuous airplay on radio and television.
“It’s very special to know that One More Sleep is bringing a little joy to people’s Christmas holidays,” she told the organization.
‘The song and the whole album mean so much to me. It’s very nice that people connect with it and as an artist I could only hope for that.’
Leona, 39, who shot to fame after winning The X Factor in 2006, has launched a hugely successful music career.
Her debut studio album, Spirit, became one of the best-selling albums of the 2000s and its lead single, Bleeding Love, was the best-selling single of 2007.

According to official chart data, the hit has now amassed the equivalent of 14 weeks of continuous airplay on radio and television since its release in 2013 (pictured in 2021).
One More Sleep debuted on the UK singles chart in 2013 at number 3, with Leona becoming the British female solo artist with the most Top 5 hits.
The song has returned to the top 40 every year since 2018, but how much does she actually earn?
This year the hit was streamed 115,463,031 times on Spotify, meaning it has raked in £323,296.49, according to CasinoBee.
This year, WHAM!’s Last Christmas was crowned the UK Christmas number one for the second year in a row Official chart History.
The iconic festive hit, which was first released in 1984 and celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, has now become the first song ever to achieve two consecutive Christmas Number 1 wins.
Now enshrined as Britain’s favorite Christmas carol, Last Christmas held off stiff competition from Gracie Abrams and Mariah Carey, as well as a madcap effort from Tom Grennan.
Originally conceived by the late, great George Michael as a contender for 1984’s Official Christmas Number 1, Last Christmas was originally blocked from the festive top spot by Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas? but ultimately claimed the coveted chart crown in 2023, completing the longest ever journey to No. 1 of 39 years.

Last Christmas secured Christmas number 1 with 12.6 million streams and was also the physical bestseller of the week, thanks to a range of limited edition 40th anniversary collectibles including zoetrope vinyl, picture disc and CD.
WAM! now enter a rare Official Charts club, as one of the few acts to reach the Official Christmas Number 1 multiple times, alongside the likes of Queen, Spice Girls, The Beatles and Ladbaby.
