A well-known former BBC media editor recently revealed that he appeared as an “inadequate man” in a 2018 comic strip on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff.

Now a radio host, he told the BBC Would I Lie to You?: “It really was to bring to life scenarios that people could relate to.” I’d get photographed, often with someone out of my league, then there’d be a little thought bubble saying, ‘I just can’t make it happen.’

And many other celebrities have also graced the pages of the nation’s photo comic strips in their time.
