Arvind Pillay charged with drug dealing after NSW police allegedly make shock discovery in back of car in Sydney

Police have charged a former Sydney real estate agent after allegedly finding drugs hidden in the boot of his car.

Arvind Pillay, 36, was working as a real estate agent in Sydney’s northwest when he was spotted in his white Mercedes at a known drug spot in Redfern in January.

The former Raine & Horne Quakers Hill real estate agent appeared nervous when police informed him the area was known for drug dealing, to which Pillay replied: “That’s disgusting,” court documents claim.

Police realized the 36-year-old was on parole for drug trafficking and decided to search his car after discovering an ice pipe allegedly protruding from the driver’s side door.

Nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of heroin were reportedly found in Ziplock bags in the trunk of his car.

A business card was also reportedly found in the ziplock bags at the community corrections office where he reports while on parole.

Pillay was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with supplying drugs and suspected stolen goods.

Police searched one of four phones in Pillay’s possession and found a slew of text messages sent to a friend about the search and arrest.

“Bro, I’m being searched and arrested,” Pillay wrote to a friend.

Another message read: ‘I’m going to jail… Please come down and say it was ours. I’ll pay for everything.’

Pillay has been in custody since his arrest and has not yet entered pleas to the charges against him. It is understood he will apply for release in the coming weeks.
