  • Artem Dobvyk scored one of the fastest LaLiga hat-tricks of all time for Girona
  • Sevilla have lost their last four games and are in serious relegation
  • Scattergun, reckless and playing Football Manager: Nottingham Forest have only themselves to blame… their approach could ultimately cost them their heads! It all starts

Girona striker Artem Dovbyk scored one of the fastest hat-tricks LaLiga has ever seen in a 5-1 win over Sevilla.

The striker scored his deadly barrage in just six minutes to move level with Jude Bellingham at the top of the competition’s scoring charts with fourteen goals.

Girona’s victory keeps them at the top of LaLiga, above Real Madrid, and increases the pressure on Sevilla, who are 17th in their nightmare season, one point ahead of the drop zone.

Sevilla had taken the lead through Isaac Romero Bernal, but they had no response to Dovbyk’s goals, which came between the 13th and 19th minutes, nor to those from Viktor Tsyhankov and Cristhian Stuani.

Girona, part of the City Football Group, are now unbeaten in 17 games and remain one point ahead of Madrid – despite it being only their second season in LaLiga.

This is only their fourth season in the top flight in their history and they have never finished higher than 10th.

The form of Dovbyk, who they signed from Dnipro-1 in Ukraine, has helped.

Pahino is said to have scored the fastest LaLiga hat-trick in four minutes in 1950, but Dovbyk is in a rarefied atmosphere, with Fernando Hierro also scoring one in six minutes.

Sevilla, who won the Europa League last season, are stuck in a dangerous slump and are on their third manager of the season.

Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso were sacked but Quique Sanchez Flores, formerly of Watford, had enjoyed an upturn in form with three wins at the start of his reign.

They have lost their next four and face a battle to retain their LaLiga status, with the only mercy being that the three teams below them are having disastrous seasons.
