Arsenal fans claim Lewis Dunk was ‘bodied’ by Bukayo Saka as Arsenal winger wins aerial duel against 6ft 4in Brighton centre back before teeing up Kai Havertz for Gunners opener

Arsenal fans claim Lewis Dunk was ‘body-trained’ by Bukayo Saka after the Gunners winger won an aerial challenge against the Brighton centre-back before setting up Kai Havertz for the north London club’s opening goal.

Saka looked to have the better of Dunk as the pair attempted to score a high ball in Brighton’s half.

The Arsenal winger appeared to leap to head the ball home but struck the 1.93m centre-back, pushing him away from the ball.

With the ball falling behind the pair, Saka turned to regain possession before clipping a pass to Havertz. The German forward then produced a sensational lob, catching Bart Verbruggen off his line to put the home side 1-0 up.

Fans have been asking via X (formerly Twitter) how Saka Dunk was able to dominate the aerial duel.

One wrote: ‘Dunk gets shot by Saka. Please don’t compare this guy to Marc Guehi, no wonder he was the waterboy in the European Championship.’

Another added: ‘How can Lewis Dunk lose to Saka in the air then?’

“Dunk was pushed off the ball by Saka,” one person wrote with several tearful faces, while another added: “It was bad from Dunk, he was outplayed by the muscular 1.68m Saka.”

More to come…
