BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal ‘agree four-year contract extension with William Saliba’ with the Frenchman’s current deal in just 12 months
Arsenal have reached a contract extension deal with William Saliba, reports show.
According to Athletic’s David Ornstein, the 22-year-old will put pen to paper on a new deal that will extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium at least until 2027.
Saliba’s performances in the Premier League in the 2022-2023 season received critical acclaim, with the Frenchman impressing in his first season in English football.
As such, Saliba began to attract the attention of a number of clubs both in the Premier League and beyond.
With only a year left at the club, Mikel Arteta’s side faced the prospect of losing such a talented young star next summer for nothing, or selling him to make some money back.
William Saliba has reportedly agreed a new contract with Arsenal that will run at least until 2027
The club was already in talks with Saliba’s representatives before the World Cup, but an agreement had not yet been reached.
His existing deal is believed to earn him around £40,000 a week, although that figure is likely to rise dramatically given his improved status within Arteta’s team.
