Arnott’s is bringing back Chicken Parmi Shapes after they were discontinued in 2020: where can I buy them in Australia?

Shoppers are excited for the return of a fan-favorite Arnott’s Shapes flavor.

The Chicken Parmi Shapes were first introduced in August 2020, but were pulled from shelves later that year.

In a recent customer survey, thousands of Australians voted to bring back the iconic snack as a permanent addition to the Shapes range.

Chicken Parmi Shapes is a delicious combination of crispy chicken schnitzel, cheese, tomato sauce and a pinch of Italian herbs.

The old favorite is currently available in stores and online at Coles, Woolworths and independent supermarkets for $4 a box.

Other Shapes flavors include Barbecue, Pizza, Chicken Crimpy, Savory, Cheddar, Fried Chicken, Vegemite & Cheese and more.

After its original release, thousands of customers debated the slang spelling of “parma”, as a chicken parmigiana is called a “parmi” in some Australian states.

‘Parmigiana, shortened word is parmi. If there was an ‘A’ in the middle, you’d be in a fight,” said one person.

“No spelling problems, Arnott got it right,” said another.

A third said: ‘It looked promising until they used an ‘A’ instead of an ‘I’.’

“And Arnott’s sales just skyrocketed through free promotion from (people) arguing about spelling,” another joked.

But Arnott’s commented on the matter, saying: “We’ve heard that the nation is divided over ‘Parma’ versus ‘Parma’, and who are we to take one side or the other?

“That’s why – if you pick up a box and look closely – we’ve added both versions on opposite sides of the box!”
