Arnold Schwarzenegger announces the release date of his new motivational book Be Useful: Seven Tools For Life

Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the imminent release of his new book Be Useful: Seven Tools For Life in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

The 75-year-old actor also unveiled the cover of his forthcoming publication, saying it would hit shelves on October 10 this year.

The Terminator, whose ex-wife Maris Shriver recently delved into their marriage and subsequent breakup, penned a note in the caption of his post to expand on the themes of his latest book.

Schwarzenegger began his message with a look back at his earlier years and an explanation of the title of the book.

“My dad always told me, ‘Be useful, Arnold.’ And every time people come to me and tell me how my advice has helped them throughout their lives, I see it’s helpful when I share my philosophy, rules and tools,” he wrote.

The former governor of California continued, “I was finally convinced to sit down and write a book about my philosophy. This way my tools can be used by everyone.’

The publisher of the upcoming book, Penguin Press, shared a press release via ET Canada to further promote the upcoming release of Be Useful.

It started: ‘The greatest bodybuilder in the world. The world’s highest paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth largest economy. That this is the same person sounds like a joke. But this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger.’

Schwarzenegger’s success in his personal and professional life was attributed to “the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back.”

“All guided by that one lesson Arnold’s father in particular hammered into him: be useful. As Arnold conquered every realm he entered, he kept his father’s adage close to his heart,” it continued.

The book was then described as taking “readers on an inspiring tour of Arnold’s toolkit for a meaningful life.”

The press release concluded with more information about the contents of the forthcoming book.

‘[Schwarzenegger] brings his insights to life with compelling personal stories, life-changing successes and life-threatening failures – some famous, some told here for the first time.”
