Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will undergo a medical before completing his £30million move to Liverpool.

The 23-year-old Georgia international is the first signing of the Arne Slot era, but will remain on loan at Valencia for the rest of the season.

Mamardashvili costs around £25m with a further £5m in add-ons and a ten per cent sell-on clause.

Meanwhile, Liverpool continue to discuss potential new players for this week.

Mail Sport reported earlier this month that the Reds were exploring the possibility of signing Mamardashvili, who is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe.
