Armie Hammer under investigation after ‘violent’ rape allegations against him by an ex
Armie Hammer is under investigation for sexual assault allegations after an ex-girlfriend previously accused him of raping her.
“I can confirm that the LAPD has presented a case involving Armie Hammer to the (Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office). The case is currently under review,” said DA Representative Tiffiny Blackwell CNN.
Details of the claims and the complainants are unclear.
The Social Network star has been under investigation for sexual assault since February 2021 after his ex-girlfriend, Effie Angelova, 26, accused him of ‘violently’ raping and abusing her in 2017.
Hammer, 36, has denied previous criminal wrongdoing and has not been charged in the case.

He has denied the rape allegations through his lawyer, saying all his sexual encounters were “entirely consensual, discussed and agreed in advance and mutually participatory.”
DailyMail.com has reached out to Hammer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, for comment on the district attorney’s statement.
Several other women came forward and accused Hammer of being interested in kinky sex and even cannibalism in the wake of Angelova’s claims.
The Call Me By Your Name star was dropped by his personal publicist and former agency, as well as multiple projects following the allegations.
His ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, with whom Hammer has two children, Harper, 8, and Ford, 6, has filed for divorce after ten years of marriage.
Hammer also dropped out of a role in Jennifer Lopez’s film Shotgun Wedding, but maintained his innocence.
“I am not responding to these claims, but in light of the vicious and false online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children alone for four months to shoot a movie in the Dominican Republic. ,” he said in a statement to the Daily Mail.
The actor then claimed that he attempted suicide in the Cayman Islands after the resistance.
“I just walked into the ocean and swam as far as I could and hoped I drowned, or got hit by a boat, or got eaten by a shark,” Hammer said.
Angelova hit back, accusing Hammer of being “manipulative” and “eliciting sympathy.”
She said he told her the suicide story years before she spoke out, only sharing it publicly in an attempt to gain sympathy and silence his victims.
The actor has admitted to emotionally abusing his former partners, but blamed his actions on being traumatized by a youth pastor who allegedly sexually assaulted him when he was 13.

The scandal began when the Instagram account House of Effie began leaking disturbing messages, allegedly sent by him between 2016 and February 2020, that contained conversations about BDSM, alongside numerous sexual references to acts of cannibalism and bloodsucking.
In a message, the actor reportedly writes to the woman, “I am 100% a cannibal. I want to eat you.’
‘F**k. That’s scary to admit,” the message continues. “I’ve never admitted that.”
Hammer’s former partners Paige Lorenze and Courtney Vucekovich then also accused him of physical and emotional abuse while they were together.
Lorenze told Page Six that the actor carved the letter “A” into her pelvis to brand her and then sucked the blood that oozed out.
In March 2021, Angelova officially came forward with her attorney Gloria Allred, claiming, “On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer violently raped me in Los Angeles for over four hours, repeatedly slamming my head against a wall and bruising my face.
“He also committed other acts of violence against me that I did not consent to.”
Angelova said she thought Hammer was “going to kill her” and claimed he hit her feet “so they hurt” during the alleged attack, according to Variety.
The 26-year-old claimed she met Hammer on Facebook when she was 20, before falling in love with the actor.
But she has since said she fell victim to “manipulation tactics.”
Model Paige Lorenze, a former professional skier turned Instagram mode, spoke about the “deeply traumatic” four-month relationship she had with Armie Hammer, which left her emotional and physical scars
Lorenze said that Hammer was fixated on biting her body and begged that she allow him to take clumps of flesh from her arm before eating them.
With a sharp knife, Hammer carved his first initial “A” into her skin during a kinky sex game, which Lorenze says got out of hand
Shortly thereafter, the LAPD confirmed it was investigating the actor after a “community member” came forward with a lawyer on February 3, 2021 with a claim of sexual assault.
Hammer has consistently denied the allegations against him.
His lawyer has said that Hammer’s meeting with Angelova was “entirely consensual, discussed and agreed in advance, and mutually participatory.”
In a statement, the lawyer said: ‘Effie’s own correspondence with Mr Hammer undermines and refutes her outrageous accusations. Since July 18, 2020, [she] sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do to her.
‘Mr. Hammer responded and made it clear that he didn’t want to maintain that kind of relationship with her.
“It was never Mr Hammer’s intention to embarrass or expose [Effie’s] fetishes or kinky sexual desires, but she has now taken this matter to another level by hiring a civil attorney to host a public press conference.
With the truth on his side, Mr. Hammer welcomes the chance to set things right. From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all his interactions with [Effie] – and every other sexual partner of his for that matter – have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participating.
‘[Effie’s] seeking attention and ill-advised legal action will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.”
