Armie Hammer DENIES that Robert Downey Jr. paid for him to go to rehab… in shock Piers Morgan interview where he was asked if he has ever eaten human flesh
Armie Hammer has denied rumors that his friend Robert Downey Jr. paid for his stay in rehab three years ago.
Hammer reportedly spent six months in treatment after his life was turned upside down by allegations of sexual abuse, and he also claims he has a fetish for cannibalism.
Downey, whose own career was derailed by addiction before making a successful comeback, reportedly financed the rehabilitation period, according to Vanity Fair.
Now Hammer, 37, has set the record straight during a shocking new interview with Piers Morgan about his scandal.
“No, he didn’t. He didn’t pay for my rehab,” Hammer said, explaining that he had “recreationally” indulged in substances such as cocaine and ecstasy, but that he was more “addicted to escapism” than to any other drug.

When Morgan asked if Downey had supported him when he became persona non grata, Hammer replied, “Yes,” but would not give details.
“I don’t want to put anyone else in my situation. There are a number of people who have been incredibly helpful and I’m incredibly grateful,” he said.
Downey helped him “the same way that anybody in Hollywood who suffers from any kind of addiction, whether it’s alcohol, litigation, drug addiction, decides to get sober. That person will find you and will help you,” Hammer said. “It’s amazing.”
Hammer also revealed the advice Downey gave him during his Hollywood exile: “Sit down. Keep your mouth shut. Everything’s going to be fine.”
After rehab, Hammer allegedly holed himself up in a Los Angeles home owned by Downey while attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, according to Variety.
During the shocking interview that aired last Friday, Morgan bluntly asked Hammer if he is indeed a cannibal.
The Call Me By Your Name star has been out of the spotlight since 2021 after allegations of sexual abuse and cannibalism surfaced.
Hammer told Morgan that the allegations arose from consensual sexual acts and kinky role-playing. When asked if he was actually a cannibal, Hammer replied, “You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to actually eat someone.”
The actor confirmed he didn’t eat anyone. He did admit to once tracing his initials into ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze’s thigh, but denied it was an attempt to brand her: “There wasn’t even any blood,” he claims.
Hammer confirmed to Morgan that he cheated on his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, during their marriage before things ended in July 2020.

Hammer also spoke about his relationship with Effie Angelova, who has accused him of sexual abuse. He called their relationship a “very intense affair, very sexually charged, between two people with very similar proclivities and kinks.”
During that segment, Hammer admitted that their conversations, taken out of context, would seem disturbing.
“When you take all those conversations that we had within that relationship out of that context and into the full light of day, it doesn’t look so good.”
Hammer said that Angelova had more experience in the world of kinky sex than he did.
‘Different people have different sexual fantasies. And there is a very broad spectrum of sexuality, and people are allowed to engage with their own sexuality in whatever way suits them and what they do.’
In another shocking part of the interview, Hammer revealed that he had put his initials on those of his then-girlfriend, Lorenze.
“We had talked about a scenario beforehand where I would take a little dot and draw the letter ‘A’ on it, like the tip of a small knife.”
“I mean, there wasn’t even any blood in the situation. It looked more like a scratch… It’s like couples getting their initials tattooed on each other,” he continued.
Morgan joked that the act was a bit different than getting a tattoo, as Hammer did, adding that he was “shocked” by the revelation.
Hammer has consistently maintained his innocence when confronted with allegations of rape and other abuse of women, and his lawyers continue to argue that all of his relationships were consensual.
Last year, Hammer and Chambers reached a divorce agreement, three years after filing.
The settlement came just weeks after L.A. County prosecutors declined to charge Hammer in an investigation into a woman’s accusation that he sexually assaulted her in 2017.
They rely on a lack of evidence to support their claim beyond reasonable doubt.
Hammer said on Instagram that after a long public silence, he “looks forward to beginning a long and difficult process of getting my life back on track now that my name has been cleared.”

Chambers, 40, is a television personality who has had shows on Food Network and Cooking Channel.
The two started dating in 2007 and married in 2010. They have an 8-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son.
The terms of their agreement were not disclosed and are often kept secret in such cases.
