Arizona Senate hopeful Kari Lake calls attacks against her for being anti-Semitic ‘ludicrous’ while saying Squad Rep. Rashida Tlaib deserves to be censured for ‘vile’ anti-Israel speech

Kari Lake, an outspoken Republican running for Senate in Arizona, says attacks from her political opponents claiming she is anti-Semitic are “ridiculous” and “incredibly unfair.”

Lake spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com ahead of the House vote to remove Squad Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her anti-Israel statements following a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists that killed more than 1,400 innocent civilians – including more than 30 Americans – and took hundreds hostage. Gaza.

Lake herself has faced criticism from current Sen. Krysten Sinema of Arizona, a former Democrat turned independent, and her other opponent, Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., for allegedly making contact with anti-Semitic media figures .

‘That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. That’s a bunch of nonsense coming from Media Matters, an outlet of (George) Soros,” she fired back during the interview with DailyMail.com.

“They are doing what they always do – distracting themselves by lying – because they have to look at their own records of dealings with Hamas-affiliated groups, taking money and doing nothing,” she continued.

Lake said Gallego, Sinema and President Joe Biden “are the reason we saw the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel on October 7.”

The House votes on a motion to ban Squad Rep. Rashida Tlaib to denounce her anti-Israel statements after a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists

She went on to say that Gallego, Sinema and President Joe Biden “are the reason we saw the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel on October 7.”

It is “incredibly unfair” that her political opponents are making anti-Semitic accusations against her, Lake continued, saying she is the only one in the three-way race with Jewish relatives.

“I expect that kind of thing in politics, but it’s definitely them trying to run away from their reputation, which is pro-Hamas,” she said, noting that Gallego was in favor of the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal.

Lake was asked by DailyMail.com whether she supports House Republican push to remove Squad Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her anti-Israel statements in the aftermath of the massacre.

“Yes, I would absolutely support that,” she responded, criticizing Gallego and Sinema for “refusing to condemn the Squad’s ‘vicious anti-Israel rhetoric.”

The House of Representatives will vote on Tlaib’s censure tonight, but she is not expected to be formally censured.

A censure vote would require a majority of lawmakers in the House of Representatives to pass.

Tlaib was criticized by both Republicans and Democrats after falsely stating that Israel was responsible for a rocket that hit a hospital in Gaza, killing hundreds of people, and for saying the US should withdraw its support for Israel.

Even Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre condemned her statements.

“Look, I saw some of those statements this weekend and we will remain very clear: we believe they are wrong,” Jean-Pierre said. “We believe they are abhorrent and disgraceful.”

Lake also told DailyMail.com that she supports the House of Representatives’ Republican effort to decouple aid to Ukraine and Israel.

“I really think it’s fiscally responsible that we get the $14 billion from that radical IRS funding and the Inflation Reduction Act. We have more than enough money from cuts to help Israel send aid to Israel immediately.”

The bill, which largely includes military aid, aims to shore up Israel’s defenses as it launches a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip in what has become an aggressive and bloody campaign to root out Hamas.

But the money would come from IRS money appropriated in last year’s Inflation Reduction Act — a prospect sure to frighten Democrats.

Lake has the support of former President Donald Trump

“I will create an America First policy for Arizona that will help all Arizonans,” Lake said

Earlier this year, the House of Representatives voted to elect fellow Squad Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., from her seat on the Foreign Affairs Committee over past anti-Israel rhetoric.

The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to support Israel and condemn Hamas in its first legislative action in more than three weeks, but a handful of Democrats voted against the resolution.

In its 412-10-6 vote last week, following the election of new Speaker Mike Johnson, the House of Representatives expressed support for Israel.

Lake told DailyMail.com she is also not concerned about a new poll that showed Sinema taking votes away from her.

“I’m going to gather votes from the Independents and I’m going to gather some of the disgruntled Democrats as well,” she told DailyMail.com.

“I know what really matters is the policy, and I’m going to put forward the Arizona First policy that will help all Arizonans.”

Last year, Lake lost her bid for the Arizona governor’s seat to Democrat Katie Hobbs.
