Arizona Democratic campaign office damaged by gunfire
TEMPE, Arizona — Authorities say someone shot at the Democratic Party campaign headquarters in a Phoenix suburb, causing damage but no injuries.
Tempe police said the damage was discovered Monday morning and a property crime investigation is underway because no one was in the office at the time the shots were fired.
Police also reported that bullets from an air rifle or BB gun were fired at the same office a week ago, the Arizona Republic reported reported.
Phoenix television stations aired video footage Monday showing two bullet holes in a door and two more in the windows of the office.
“We are grateful to the Tempe Police Department for their quick response and are glad no one was present or injured,” Sean McEnerney, the Arizona Democratic Party’s campaign coordinator, said in a statement.
