The Arizona Cardinals “created a monster” by handing 25-year-old quarterback Kyler Murray a whopping $230 million, five-year contract last summer, according to an anonymous teammate.
The team went 4-13 in a horrendous 2022 season, having since fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury, while general manager Steve Keim resigned due to “health issues.”
On top of that, Murray suffered a torn ACL late in the tournament, and his return at any stage of the 2023 campaign is in serious doubt.
Now, to make matters worse, there seems to be a huge split in the locker room, with an unsung ‘veteran’ on the roster now targeting the quarterback.

speaking to bally sports After his season finale last weekend, the player said “it was like they created a monster” when they gave Murray a huge new contract in the offseason, in an attempt to tie him to the franchise.
They went on to state that once his massive salary was guaranteed, Murray “felt less of a compulsion to study his game plan or live up to the expectations of the franchise quarterback position than in the past.”
Murray’s “study” struggles were laid out for all to see in preseason when his contract was leaked, noting in the fine print that he had to “complete four hours of independent study” every game week.
After a 4-13 year, head coach Kliff Kingsbury was fired by the struggling Arizona Cardinals.
General manager Steve Keim is also out, having previously retired due to ill health.
After a media firestorm, the team dropped the clause, but it was soon reported that the relationship between Murray and manager Kingsbury had already begun to sour.
The Cardinals made the playoffs in 2021, and thus their fall from grace this season has been particularly notable, leaving them in a big mess heading into 2023, without their star quarterback, coach, or general manager.
On top of that, it was reported this week that the team plans to trade its star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, even though he has two years and more than $34 million left on his current contract.
JJ Watt also retired, leaving huge holes on the roster and in the front office for whoever takes over.
