Ariana Grande is back in the recording studio earlier than expected due to the ongoing cast union strike.
The 30-year-old entertainer wanted to focus on her long-awaited film Wicked before recording her seventh studio album, but production was halted in July just days from completion due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Ariana used the unexpected time off to work with producer Max Martin in New York, according to an article published Monday by PageSik.
Sources told the agency that so far only Ariana and Max have been in the studio.
Ariana and Max have previously collaborated on music, including Ariana’s hit song God Is A Woman.

An insider said that Ariana has made her character Glinda in Wicked a top priority for the past two years and that the release date of her new album will respect the Wicked timeline.
Ariana’s sixth studio album, Positions, was released in October 2020 on Republic Records.
The Florida native finalized her divorce from real estate agent Dalton Gomez earlier this month after tying the knot in 2021.
Ariana filed for divorce last month on Sept. 18, and Dalton also filed on the same day.
In documents previously obtained by TMZ, Ariana’s attorney, Laura Wasser, cited the reason for their divorce as “irreconcilable differences” and listed the separation date as February 20, 2023.
Since their split, the singer has been romantically linked to actor and her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, 31, who was on the SAF-AFTRA line in New York on Monday. Ethan also filed for divorce from his wife Lily J in July, leaving her “devastated”.
Ariana released her debut album Yours Truly in 2013 and it debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart.
Her other albums are: Mi Everything, Dangerous Woman, Sweetener and Thank U, Next.
