Ariana Grande and Evan Peters drive fans wild with their ‘chemistry’ in new music video for We Can’t Be Friends – as they call for the stars to film a rom-com together

Ariana Grande released the official music video for her new song “we can’t be friends, wait for your love” on Friday morning.

In the video, the second from her Eternal Sunshine album, she stars opposite actor Evan Peters.

It’s not just the new music fans have been raving about on social media, but also their undeniable on-screen compatibility.

“Just like Evan Peters and Ariana Grande already passed the chemistry test, now someone needs to cast them in a rom-com,” one fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The video follows Grande’s character, Peaches, as she visits a clinic to erase her memories of the actor’s character after a breakup.

In the video, Grande is seen holding a box of memories from her relationship as she signs away her memories as the screen goes black.

The two are first seen together laughing in an arcade as he wins her a teddy bear.

Then the storyline shifts as the good memories turn bad and the difficult parts of the relationship are shown.

“You misunderstood me, but at least I look good this way.” We can’t be friends, but I’d like to pretend… wait until you like me again,” the pop vocalist sings.

As she mourns the lost relationship, the beautiful moments begin to fade as all their kisses and intimate moments disappear.

The screen flashes back to Peaches hugging the doctors in the exam room, seemingly confirming that he has been permanently erased from her mind.

We then see her box of memories of the relationship being burned by a nurse, symbolizing change.

The video had an emotional ending as Grande’s character walked next to a new man as Evans walked past them with a new woman of his own – no longer recognizing who they once were to each other.

“Waiting for your love,” the singer cried, “My love, I’m waiting for your love.”
