Ariana Grande claps back at fan who called Eternal Sunshine her ‘worst era EVER’ and said they preferred her last album

Ariana Grande took a break from the Olympics to share a few words with a fan who criticized her new album Eternal Sunshine.

An X (formerly Twitter) user posted: ‘This is her worst era ever. I’m sorry but the Positions era was better.’

The post angered the 31-year-old We Can’t Be Friends singer, who responded enthusiastically.

“Then listen to it! I’m glad you finally like it,” she wrote, adding a heart and xx to her response.

After all, they’re both her albums, so what does she care which one fans like best, as long as they listen?

Another fan wrote: ‘Eternal Sunshine and Positions are Ariana’s best albums,’ while a third said: ‘This is her best era ever btw.’

“It’s always her own fans. They’ve cut her positions because they hate it, banned her from Twitter because they criticized her voice team. If only she knew what some of you are saying about REM beauty and evil…” someone else wrote.

‘Every fan does this with every new era. You guys hated Positions back then and now you suddenly love them during a new era? And then when she starts a new era everyone will love/miss Eternal Sunshine. I swear people can never enjoy just the present,’ someone else commented.

A lot has happened in the Wicked star’s life since she released Positions in 2020.

She married and divorced realtor Dalton Gomez, began intensive production on the Wicked film adaptation, and began a relationship with her married co-star Ethan Slater.

With that, the Thank U, Next hitmaker had enough emotional material to create the first album of her thirties.

Her fourth studio album heralds a new era for the Florida-born singer, who describes the project as a “concept album” that deals with the fallout from her divorce and the scandal that came early in her relationship with Slater.

Right from the start of Intro, Grande dives into her own emotional cesspool as she sings:

‘How do I know if I’m in the right relationship?/Shouldn’t you just know?/Feel it in your bones and accept that shit?’

While her fans debate which era Grande likes best, the Bang Bang singer is living her best life in Paris.

She was spotted in the crowd during the qualifying round for the women’s artistic gymnastics competition.

During a brief interview she gave from the stands, she showed off her iPhone’s lock screen and eagle-eyed fans watched a photo featuring the silhouettes of two people they assumed were Ariana and Ethan.

In the background of the screen, two people were clearly visible. There also seemed to be a woman standing to the left of a man. Their identities were difficult to distinguish at such a small size.
