Ariana Grande begs fans to stop sending ‘hateful messages’ to people in her life and says they’re ‘misinterpreting’ her new music – amid rumors her ex Dalton Gomez was unfaithful

Ariana Grande asked her fans to stop sending hate to her loved ones following the release of her new album Eternal Sunshine.

On Saturday, the 30-year-old pop star took to her Instagram Stories to address the unkind messages people have sent to ‘people in (her) life’ after fan speculation about cryptic lyrics in her songs on her new record.

The singer also appeared to address the drama surrounding her title track, the lyrics of which drew accusations from fans that her ex-husband Dalton Gomez may have been unfaithful.

In response to the rumors, she firmly called out the people who wrote and sent “hateful messages” simply “based on your interpretation of this album.”

The Yes, And? hitmaker added that this is “also a complete misinterpretation of the intention behind the music.”

“I just wanted to say that anyone sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album does not support me and is doing the absolute opposite of what I would ever encourage,” she began.

‘I ask you please not to do that. It’s not how you should support me,” she continued. “It’s the opposite.”

“While this album captures many painful moments, it is also interwoven with a through line of deep, heartfelt love,” she wrote.

“If you can’t hear that, please listen more closely,” she concluded. ‘Thank you.’

Ahead of the release of her seventh studio album, the singer faced backlash from trolls over her new relationship with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

News had just emerged of her split from Gomez in early 2023 and around the same time, Slater filed for divorce from his then-wife Lilly Jay, with whom he had just welcomed a baby.

In a recent wrap-up post from 2023, she said she felt “very misunderstood” over the past year, seemingly alluding to the accusations about her divorce and new relationship.
